On-line Registration & Course Access

CONTACT INFORMATION FROM NEW STUDENTS

You may register for one course per term without being formally accepted to a program. To on-line register, your contact information must have been entered into PSU's student information system, by one of two ways:

If you are a new PSU student considering one or two classes, fill out

If are interested in a masters degree in Systems Engineering (SYSE),
please view application information for University and SYSE admission

You will be assigned a PSU ID Number (9NN-MM-LLLL) and do not need to provide your social security number.

NEW PSU STUDENT LOGIN

In sections below are instructions used before 2009. PSU is now consolidating student computer accounts under one login, ODIN, at <https://my.pdx.edu>. I suggest: 1) follow the old instructions given below, assuming they are working; 2) afterwhich go to <https://my.pdx.edu> and consolidate BANNER AND ODIN as an existing user. This computer system supports the individual student, where student can online register, see how much they owe PSU, and see grades at end of term:

CENTRAL COMPUTER ACCOUNT (ODIN)

An 'ODIN' account supports specific classes by giving you access to the course management system, Blackboard (BB), and to electronic library material. You'll need to be recently registered in a PSU course for the following to work:

Request a login name at www.account.pdx.edu

Obtaining a password requires that you contact the PSU Computer Help Desk at <503.725.4357> and telling them you are a remote student. They will ask you to send a copy of any photo ID to Help Desk either by email < help@pdx.edu> or FAX <503.725.3360>. After that, your password will be provided by phone. This is last step to 'activate' your ODIN account.

COURSE MANAGMENT SYSTEM (BLACKBOARD)

Within a day or so after registering for a course, you will be added to the Blackboard (Bb) Grade Report and can then access the systems engineering course:

A few weeks before and after the first day of the term, the instructors will have a guest account for every Bb course. If you wish to preview the course material or if your ability to access Bb is temporarily delayed, please contact the instructor for guest login and password.

ELECTRONIC LIBRARY MATERIAL

For some electronic articles, you will be assigned specific links to the PSU library server. The Library's server will need your ODIN userID and password.
